AmpliTech Group Inc. saw its stock rise sharply in premarket trading after announcing that its 5G Native Distributed Antenna System (DAS) solution has received full certification from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. The approvals cover the company’s complete hardware stack and allow for immediate commercial sale, shipment, and integration across the North American market. The system targets Fixed Wireless Access and Private 5G use cases and has drawn at least one order from a North American mobile network operator with shipments planned later this year.

Key Points

  • AmpliTech received full FCC and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada certifications for its 5G Native Distributed Antenna System, covering the Pico Radio, AC and DC Mother Hubs, and Cascading Hubs.
  • With U.S. and Canadian approvals, the company can immediately sell, ship, and integrate its hardware across the North American market, which impacts telecom equipment suppliers and wireless carriers.
  • The system targets Fixed Wireless Access and Private 5G use cases - including smart factories, logistics centers, military sites, and healthcare campuses - and supports Open RAN interoperability within a single-vendor stack.

AmpliTech Group Inc. (NASDAQ:AMPG) experienced a notable premarket stock move, with shares rising 14% on Wednesday after the company announced it had secured full certification of its 5G Native Distributed Antenna System from both the U.S. Federal Communications Commission and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada.

The approvals apply to AmpliTech’s entire hardware suite, including the 5G Pico Radio, AC and DC Mother Hubs, and the high-density Cascading Hubs. With regulatory clearance in both the United States and Canada, the company said its products are cleared for immediate commercial sale, shipment, and integration into networks throughout the North American market.

According to the company, the certifications confirm that the system meets required safety and performance standards, enabling wireless carriers, government entities, and enterprise customers to proceed with installations. AmpliTech noted that the certified configuration supports streamlined deployment processes and improved compatibility across different installation environments.

The AmpliTech solution is positioned to address Fixed Wireless Access market requirements as operators look for alternatives to physical fiber rollout. The Pico Radio is described as being engineered to maximize data throughput and coverage range while maintaining low power consumption. When paired with the AC and DC Mother Hubs and the Cascading Hubs, the complete system is intended to extend 5G signal coverage across distances described by the company as spanning thousands of feet.

In addition to consumer and carrier-focused Fixed Wireless Access, the Native DAS is targeted at Private 5G deployments in settings such as smart factories, logistics facilities, military installations, and healthcare campuses. The system is offered as a single-vendor stack that the company says delivers Open RAN interoperability.

Fawad Maqbool, AmpliTech’s CEO and CTO, said the dual-country certification provides the company’s engineering, sales, and integration partners with the ability to deploy full-scale networks immediately. He also confirmed that AmpliTech has received orders from a North American mobile network operator customer for the certified products, with shipments scheduled to begin later this year.

Market context and deployment implications

The certifications remove regulatory barriers to commercial deployments across two major North American jurisdictions, enabling AmpliTech to ship and integrate its complete hardware stack. For operators weighing Fixed Wireless Access solutions or planning Private 5G installations, the certified system offers an option that the company describes as optimized for coverage, speed, and power efficiency.

Risks

  • While certifications clear the products for commercial deployment, successful adoption depends on carrier and enterprise purchasing decisions and integration schedules - impacting the telecom and enterprise networking sectors.
  • Orders and shipment timing remain a source of uncertainty; the company has disclosed an initial order with shipments planned later this year but broader market uptake is not guaranteed - affecting equipment supply chains and network integration services.
