Context and implications
The session's sector-level weakness in Electric Power, Public Utilities and Consumption was the proximate reason for the Bovespa's retreat, while gains in several oil and energy-related stocks helped limit broader losses. Commodity price moves and shifts in currency pairs accompanied equity volatility, reinforcing cross-market linkages during the trading day.
