Greek share prices ended the trading day higher on Monday, with the Athens General Composite finishing up 0.74% as investors pushed gains in Construction, Travel and Technology sectors.

At the close in Athens the index added 0.74%, reflecting a session in which rising issues outnumbered decliners. On the Athens Stock Exchange 71 stocks advanced, 52 fell and 9 were unchanged.

The top performers on the Athens General Composite included Allwyn AG (AT:ALWr), which rose 5.70% or 0.69 points to close at 12.79. Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) gained 4.90% or 0.72 points to end at 15.42, while Avax SA (AT:AVAr) finished up 3.93% or 0.12 points at 3.17 in late trade.

On the downside, Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) led losses, slipping 5.79% or 0.11 points to close at 1.79. Unibios Holdings SA (AT:VILr) declined 2.50% or 0.07 points to finish at 2.53, and Ilyda SA Class R (AT:ILYr) was down 2.12% or 0.10 points to 4.39 by the end of the session.


Commodity markets saw mixed activity during the same period. Gold Futures for June delivery fell 1.34% or 62.19 to $4,582.31 a troy ounce. In energy markets, crude oil for June delivery rose 0.59% or 0.60 to $102.54 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract climbed 3.06% or 3.31 to trade at $111.48 a barrel.

Major currency pairs showed little movement. EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% at 1.17, and EUR/GBP was unchanged 0.02% at 0.86. Meanwhile, the US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 98.18.
