Israel's equity market closed higher on Tuesday, with the TA 35 index finishing up 0.96% at the end of trading in Tel Aviv. Sector-level strength in Communication, Real Estate and Insurance supported the advance in the benchmark.
The session's strongest performers on the TA 35 included Camtek Ltd (TASE:CAMT), which jumped 13.79% - a gain of 6,410.00 points - to finish at 52,890.00. Tower Semiconductor Ltd (TASE:TSEM) also saw a double-digit rise, adding 13.71% or 9,500.00 points to close at 78,800.00. Nova (TASE:NVMI) recorded a 6.23% increase, climbing 8,500.00 points to end the day at 144,900.00.
On the downside, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TASE:TEVA) fell 4.37%, losing 425.00 points to settle at 9,300.00. Energy-related Navitas Petroleum LP Unit (TASE:NVPTp) declined 3.56% or 470.00 points to close at 12,720.00, while Mega Or (TASE:MGOR) slipped 3.18%, a decrease of 2,130.00 points, finishing at 64,920.00.
Market breadth showed more falling issues than advancing ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. Decliners outnumbered advancers 254 to 208, and 89 stocks finished unchanged.
Commodities and currencies
In commodities trading, crude oil for July delivery edged lower by 0.21% or 0.19 to trade at $91.97 a barrel. Brent oil for August delivery was unchanged at $94.98 a barrel. Precious metals moved higher as the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.60%, gaining 27.25 to trade at $4,533.55 a troy ounce.
Currency moves accompanying the session included a 1.09% uptick in USD/ILS to 2.85 and a 1.12% rise in EUR/ILS to 3.31. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 99.10.
