On the downside, OZON (MCX:OZON) fell 3.69% or 109.00 points to close at 2,844.00. Magnit PJSC (MCX:MGNT) declined 0.99% or 18.00 points to 1,803.00, and AK ALROSA PJSC (MCX:ALRS) slipped 0.96% or 0.20 points to finish at 20.60.

Advancing issues outnumbered decliners on the Moscow Stock Exchange, with 157 stocks higher, 87 lower and 9 unchanged. Shares of Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX:CBOM) reached a 52-week high, rising 3.73% to 9.35.


Volatility and indexes

The Russian Volatility Index - RVI, which reflects implied volatility on MOEX Russia Index options, decreased 0.95% to 39.47. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 99.67.


Commodities and currency moves

Commodity markets were mixed during the session. Gold Futures for August delivery fell 1.49% or 62.00 to $4,098.60 a troy ounce. In contrast, crude oil contracts were higher: September delivery crude rose 3.17% or 2.56 to $83.36 a barrel, while the October Brent contract increased 3.22% or 2.80 to trade at $89.68 a barrel.

Currency pairs also moved: USD/RUB rose 0.29% to 80.23, while EUR/RUB fell 0.40% to 91.85.
