Top and bottom movers
The session's strongest performers on the Investing.com Italy 40 included Avio SpA (BIT:AVI), which advanced 4.66% or 1.41 points to finish at 31.70. STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) added 3.60% or 1.63 points to end the day at 46.92, and Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY) rose 3.47% or 4.15 points to close at 123.60.
Conversely, the weakest names included Eni SpA (BIT:ENI), which fell 1.88% or 0.44 points to 23.25. Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:CPRI) declined 1.80% or 0.11 points to 5.79, and Snam SpA (BIT:SRG) slid 1.34% or 0.08 points to 5.87.
Market breadth and activity
On the Milan Stock Exchange, advancing issues outnumbered decliners by 476 to 295, while 47 stocks finished unchanged, indicating broadly positive participation across the market.
Commodities and currencies
Energy markets registered notable weakness. Crude oil for September delivery fell 5.48% or 4.40 to trade at $75.94 a barrel. Brent for October delivery dropped 5.29% or 4.43 to $79.34 a barrel. In precious metals, the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.27% or 51.95 to trade at $4,142.45 a troy ounce.
In foreign exchange trading, the euro-dollar pair was reported as unchanged 0.12% at 1.15, while EUR/GBP was unchanged 0.07% to 0.86. The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 99.78.
