Among constituents, Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA) was the session's top mover, rising 2.80% - a gain of 0.38 points - to finish at 13.94. Regional SAB de CV (BMV:RA) added 2.29%, or 3.25 points, closing at 145.47. Beverage producer Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) advanced 2.06%, gaining 0.32 points to end the day at 15.88.

On the downside, Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO) led losses with a fall of 2.63%, or 1.55 points, to settle at 57.48. Telecom giant America Movil SAB de CV M (BMV:AMXB) declined 1.77%, slipping 0.39 points to 21.68. Arca Continental, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:AC) gave up 1.67%, a drop of 3.32 points, to close at 195.14.

Market internals showed 132 advancers against 97 decliners on the Mexico Stock Exchange, while 13 stocks finished unchanged.


Commodities and FX snapshot

Commodity markets were mixed at the close. Gold futures for December delivery ticked up 0.09%, or $3.90, to $4,110.90 a troy ounce. In energy markets, U.S. crude for September delivery fell sharply, down 5.44% or $4.61, to $80.06 a barrel. By contrast, the October Brent contract inched higher by 0.22%, or $0.18, to $83.73 a barrel.

On currency crosses, the peso showed small moves versus major currencies. USD/MXN rose 0.03% to 17.33, while EUR/MXN was also up 0.03% to 19.94. The U.S. Dollar Index futures traded up 0.06% at 99.85.
