Turkey's stock market closed in negative territory on Thursday, with the BIST 100 slipping 0.24% at the Istanbul close. The session was marked by sector-level pressure from Leasing & Factoring, Wood, Paper & Printing and Food & Beverages, which together contributed to the broader decline.
On the individual stock front, Turkiye Halk Bankasi (IS:HALKB) led the gainers, finishing the day up 9.97% - a rise of 3.80 points to a closing price of 41.92. Two other names in the top-performing group were Pasifik Eurasia Lojistik Dis Ticaret AS (IS:PASEU), which climbed 6.61% or 16.00 points to close at 258.00, and Pasifik Teknoloji A.S. (IS:PATEK), which gained 5.74% or 1.22 points to trade at 22.46 at the close.
At the other end of the board, Destek Finans Faktoring As (IS:DSTKF) posted the steepest decline, falling 9.98% - a drop of 242.00 points to finish at 2,183.00. Odine Solutions Teknoloji Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:ODINE) decreased 3.21% or 62.00 points to 1,869.00, while Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AS (IS:OTKAR) ended the session down 2.09% or 7.00 points at 328.00.
Market breadth favored the losers. On the Istanbul exchange, 356 stocks fell compared with 253 that rose, while 35 issues finished unchanged.
Notably, shares of Pasifik Eurasia Lojistik Dis Ticaret AS (IS:PASEU) reached an all-time high in the session, gaining 6.61% or 16.00 points to close at 258.00.
Commodities and currency moves were modest during the trading day. Gold Futures for December delivery eased 0.13% or 6.06 to $4,647.24 a troy ounce. In energy markets, crude oil for October delivery rose 0.19% or 0.16 to $82.39 a barrel, while the November Brent contract increased 0.53% or 0.46 to trade at $87.40 a barrel.
In FX markets, USD/TRY was up 0.06% at 48.14 and EUR/TRY rose 0.19% to 56.21. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 99.07.
