Market breadth was positive: rising issues outnumbered decliners 60 to 47, while 22 names finished unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

Notably, shares of Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr) rose to an all-time high, gaining 5.34% or 0.60 to 11.83. Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) also reached an all-time high, increasing 2.65% or 0.80 to 31.00.

Commodities and foreign exchange showed mixed movements during the session. Gold futures for December delivery were up 0.40% or 18.11 to $4,563.41 a troy ounce. In energy markets, crude oil for October delivery rose 2.17% or 1.83 to $86.22 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract increased 1.91% or 1.75 to trade at $93.37 a barrel.

On FX, EUR/USD was quoted at 1.17, showing an unchanged move of 0.07%, and EUR/GBP was essentially flat, unchanged by 0.15% to 0.86. The US Dollar Index Futures traded down 0.03% at 98.70.
