Turkey's equity market finished lower on Thursday, with the BIST 100 closing down 0.43% in Istanbul as declines in the Information Technology, Textile & Leather and Banking sectors outpaced advances elsewhere.
Market movers
The session's top performers on the BIST 100 included Altinay Savunma Teknolojileri AS (IS:ALTNY), which climbed 8.82% - gaining 1.51 points to finish at 18.63. Pasifik Eurasia Lojistik Dis Ticaret AS (IS:PASEU) rose 8.76% - up 16.30 points to close at 202.30, and Gen Ilac ve Saglik Urunleri Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:GENIL) increased 8.53% - adding 0.95 points to end at 12.09.

Sarkuysan Elektrolitik Bakir Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:SARKY) declined 5.29% - falling 1.40 points to 25.06, and Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) dropped 5.06% - down 4.95 points to 92.80.

Across the exchange, advancing issues outnumbered decliners, with 328 stocks rising versus 283 falling, and 28 ending unchanged. Notably, shares of Pasifik Eurasia Lojistik Dis Ticaret AS (IS:PASEU) reached an all-time high in the session when they rose to 202.30.
Commodities and FX
Precious metals and oil moved higher on the day. Gold futures for December delivery gained 0.92%, rising by 42.01 to trade at $4,587.31 a troy ounce. In energy markets, crude oil for October settlement climbed 2.46% or $2.08 to $86.47 a barrel, while the October Brent contract increased 2.07% or $1.90 to $93.52 a barrel.
On currency markets, USD/TRY was up 0.06% to 47.95, and EUR/TRY rose 0.30% to 56.17. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03%, trading at 98.70.
This session reflected uneven internals for Istanbul's market - several individual equities posted sizeable gains even as key sectors pulled the benchmark lower, and commodity strength coincided with small moves in FX and the US dollar futures contract.
