Key Points

  • Assetback launches globally on Aug. 1 and allows Bitget Wallet Card users to receive rewards in Bitcoin, XAUT (tokenized gold), tokenized U.S. equities (NVDA, TSLA, GOOGL) and a tokenized S&P 500 exposure.
  • Eligible users can earn up to 3% asset cashback, with rewards automatically routed into the selected asset once chosen in advance; stablecoins are expected to be available as an alternative.
  • The Bitget Wallet Card will be available in more than 50 markets, accepted via Visa and Mastercard, and the self-custodial wallet serves more than 100 million users; crypto card spending has risen to $656 million monthly in May 2026, up from $271 million a year earlier.

Overview

Bitget Wallet is preparing to roll out Assetback, a new cashback program that gives Bitget Wallet Card holders the option to receive rewards not as fiat or airline miles but as Bitcoin, tokenized gold or tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs. The program will be available globally beginning Aug. 1 and routes rewards into the user-selected asset automatically.

How Assetback will work

Under Assetback, users will be able to choose Bitcoin, gold represented by XAUT, or tokenized equities such as Nvidia (NVDA), Tesla (TSLA), Alphabet (GOOGL) and a tokenized S&P 500 exposure. These tokenized equities and ETF-like exposures are delivered via xStocks, the tokenized equity framework developed by Payward. Stablecoins are also expected to be offered as an alternative payout option.

Eligible cardholders can earn up to 3% asset cashback. Once a customer selects their preferred asset in advance, rewards will be automatically routed into that asset on an ongoing basis.

Distribution and scale

The Bitget Wallet Card is slated to be available in more than 50 markets and will be accepted worldwide through Visa and Mastercard networks. Bitget describes the underlying wallet as self-custodial and reports it serves more than 100 million users globally.

Company perspective

Alvin Kan, chief operating officer of Bitget Wallet, said the program illustrates a shift in how tokenized real-world assets are entering everyday consumer finance. He described card rewards as an early example of payments, saving and investing converging in a single experience, turning routine spending into small, recurring allocations to equities, gold or Bitcoin.

Kan added that automation of this type could expand ways consumers build exposure to both traditional and digital assets over time, particularly in markets where access to global investments remains costly or complex.

Sector context and recent trends

The announcement arrives amid rising activity in crypto-related card spending. Monthly crypto card spending reached $656 million in May 2026, more than double the $271 million recorded a year earlier. Bitget Wallet Card spending itself nearly tripled in the first half of 2026, the company reports.

Implications

Assetback positions payments and retail spending as a channel for incremental investment into tokenized and digital assets. By routing rewards directly into user-selected assets, the program aims to simplify routine accumulation of exposure to Bitcoin, gold tokens and tokenized equities without requiring separate purchase decisions at the point of sale.

Risks

  • Adoption uncertainty - the degree to which consumers will opt to receive routine card rewards as tokenized or digital assets rather than fiat remains to be seen, which could affect program uptake and related payment flows.
  • Access disparities - while the company notes the feature could help consumers in markets where global investment access is costly or complex, those same market frictions may limit actual participation or the ability to use tokenized assets.
  • Volatility in card spending trends - the recent acceleration in crypto card spending underpins the launch, but future shifts in consumer spending patterns or demand for crypto payouts could alter program outcomes.
