Commodity markets provided a mixed backdrop to the equity moves. Crude oil for September delivery rose 0.80%, up $0.67, to $84.26 per barrel. The session highlighted a combination of sector-specific gains and commodity-driven influences. Oil and energy-related moves coincided with strength among some large-cap names, while select technology and financial stocks also contributed to the index advance. At the same time, individual heavyweight declines, notably in industrial and telecom components, tempered broader market gains.
Investors ended the week with the OMX Stockholm 30 modestly higher, amid mixed signals from market breadth, commodity prices and currency pairs that accompanied the session.
