Stellantis said preliminary second-quarter vehicle shipments increased 10% from a year earlier, reaching nearly 1.6 million units. The automaker attributed the rise chiefly to a sharp recovery in its North American market.
North American shipments were up 38%, totaling 445,000 units. The company pointed to a combination of refreshed and newly introduced vehicles that helped fuel the surge. Specifically mentioned were the V8-powered Ram light-duty truck and the new Ram 1500 TRX SRT, along with refreshed versions of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Cherokee and an updated Chrysler Pacifica. Stellantis also highlighted the continued ramp-up of the all-new Jeep Cherokee and the Dodge Charger as contributors to the region's gains.
In the Enlarged Europe region, shipments rose by 5%. Stellantis said several recent launches supported this improvement, including the Citroën C3 and Citroën C3 Aircross, the Opel Frontera and the Fiat Grande Panda.
Performance outside those markets was less uniform. Vehicle shipments in the Middle East and Africa fell 3%, with the company citing the effects of the regional conflict as a factor in the decline. South America likewise saw a 3% drop in shipments. Shipments in the Asia Pacific region were unchanged, recorded as flat for the period.
This preliminary shipment breakdown shows a concentration of growth in North America driven by specific model introductions and refreshes, while other regions produced mixed results for the quarter.
Impacted sectors - The reported shipment trends are directly relevant to automotive manufacturing and supply chains, dealership inventory and sales operations, and regional market exposure for vehicle makers and parts suppliers.
