What to watch
Sector leadership on the day was concentrated in Consumer Services, Healthcare and Financials, which collectively supported the headline gains for Paris benchmarks. Energy and select semiconductor names weighed on performance given the declines among several large-cap participants.
Investors will note the divergence between equity gains and weakness in oil prices, alongside a VIX reading that sits at a yearly peak. Those factors may shape trading dynamics in the near term.
