(BMV:GMEXICOB) gained 1.95% or 4.26 points to close at 222.65.

On the downside, Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1) led losses with a 5.67% drop, falling 8.69 points to 144.62 at the close. Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA) declined 4.59% or 1.77 points to finish at 36.76, while America Movil SAB de CV M (BMV:AMXB) slipped 3.45% or 0.74 points to 20.74.

Breadth on the Mexico Stock Exchange skewed negative, with falling stocks outnumbering advancing ones by 134 to 97 and 13 issues finishing unchanged. Notably, shares of Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GMEXICOB) rose to an all-time high during the session, increasing 1.95% or 4.26 to close at 222.65.


Commodities trading showed divergent moves. Gold Futures for December delivery was up 3.74% or 155.35 to $4,307.95 a troy ounce. In oil markets, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.91% or 0.69 to hit $75.08 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.13 to trade at $79.57 a barrel.

Foreign exchange and index futures data included USD/MXN up 0.16% to 17.24 and EUR/MXN higher by 0.06% at 19.91. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 99.55.
