The company said the tool has been trained to take on long-running projects and to coordinate multiple concurrent sub-agents to accelerate the resolution of difficult tasks. Meta added that Muse Spark 1.2 and Muse Code were trained together so they operate as an integrated pair.

The company launched Muse Code in beta and highlighted a continuity feature: the tool keeps a log of its actions. That log allows Muse Code to resume work from its last point if a crash occurs rather than restarting the entire process, Meta said.

Access for developers is via a pay-as-you-go plan. Meta listed the standard tier at $1.25 per million input tokens and $4.25 per million output tokens. The pricing model applies to usage of Muse Code as provided at launch.

Meta noted the release follows an earlier developer testing phase for Muse Spark 1.1, which the company introduced nearly a month prior to this launch. Meta said the previous model, Muse Spark 1.1, was used to generate and evaluate challenging coding problems that contributed to improving Muse Spark 1.2's ability to follow complex instructions.

The introduction of Muse Code places Meta in competition with other AI-driven coding systems, including Anthropic's Claude and OpenAI's Codex, as companies pursue ways to commercialize AI assistant technologies for software development.
