Portugal's stock market finished higher on Thursday, with a broad advance across several sectors helping the PSI close up 1.07% in Lisbon.
Sector performance was led by Financials, Industrials and Consumer Services, which collectively pushed shares higher over the session. Market breadth in Lisbon showed more winners than losers, with rising stocks outnumbering decliners by 20 to 9 and one stock finishing unchanged.

- Banco Comercial Portugues (BCP) closed at 1.07, gaining 4.92% or 0.05 points.
- Mota Engil SGPS SA (MOTA) ended the session at 4.67, up 3.45% or 0.16 points.
- Teixeira Duarte (TDSA) rose 3.44% or 0.02 points to finish at 0.50.
Largest declines
- Galp Energia Nom (GALP) was the weakest on the index, falling 1.98% or 0.40 points to 19.60 at the close.
- Corticeira Amorim (CORA) slipped 0.90% or 0.06 points to end at 6.60.
- Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (RENE) declined 0.42% or 0.02 points to 3.53.
Commodity markets showed mixed moves during the European session. Brent oil for October delivery fell 0.98% or 0.86 to trade at $87.23 a barrel. U.S. crude for September delivery dropped 0.28% or 0.24 to $84.22 a barrel. In metals, the August gold futures contract climbed 1.84% or 74.10 to trade at $4,110.40 a troy ounce.
Currency markets also moved: EUR/USD was up 0.51% to 1.15, while EUR/GBP was effectively unchanged at 0.86 (a 0.22% change reported). The U.S. Dollar Index futures was lower by 0.89% at 99.84.
The session’s figures underline a positive finish for the PSI, with select financial and industrial names posting the strongest gains and several energy-related stocks lagging. The interplay between commodity and currency moves was notable across markets, though the market's net advance was reflected in the 20-to-9 ratio of winners to losers on the Lisbon exchange.
