Turkey's main stock index ended Monday's session in negative territory as sector pressure pushed the BIST 100 to a new one-month low.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.21%, finishing the day down and trading at its lowest level in a month. The downturn was led by weakness in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Non-Metal Mineral Products and Technology sectors.

Market context
The sell-off in commodity-related and industrial sectors contributed to the BIST 100's slide. While several small- and mid-cap names outperformed, the session was dominated by declines in names linked to banking, petrochemicals and construction-related materials, as reflected in the biggest percentage drops.
Overall market breadth was negative, with nearly three times as many decliners as advancers, and selective strength in a handful of technology and logistics stocks unable to offset sectoral pressure.
Closing note
Monday's trading left the BIST 100 at a one-month low, with commodity prices and sector-level weakness among the drivers recorded in the session. Market participants will likely watch whether these sector trends persist in coming sessions.
