On the downside, Sekerbank TAS (IS:SKBNK) posted the steepest decline among BIST 100 members, slipping 9.95% or 0.77 points to close at 6.97. ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) fell 9.78%, a drop of 0.85 points to finish at 7.84. Destek Finans Faktoring As (IS:DSTKF) declined 5.28%, down 95.00 points to 1,703.00 at the close.


Market breadth

Rising issues outnumbered decliners on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 408 to 205, while 21 stocks ended the day unchanged.


Commodities and currencies

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery moved lower, falling 1.32% or $54.10 to $4,046.00 a troy ounce. Crude oil showed upward momentum: the September contract rose 2.34% or $1.96 to $85.55 a barrel, and the October Brent contract increased 1.68% or $1.46 to $88.34 a barrel.

On currency markets, USD/TRY was up 0.19% at 47.52, while EUR/TRY retreated 0.22% to 54.71. The US Dollar Index Futures was trading higher as well, up 0.28% at 100.00.
