Among individual components, Qt Group Oyj (HE:QTCOM) was the session's top gainer, surging 25.37% - an increase of 6.50 points - to finish at 32.12. Bittium Oyj (HE:BITTI) also recorded a gain, rising 2.91% or 0.80 points to end the session at 28.30. Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) advanced 1.88% - up 0.36 points - to close at 19.48.
On the downside, Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) led decliners, slipping 2.39% or 0.13 points to trade at 5.32 at the close. Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) fell 1.49%, a loss of 0.13 points, finishing at 8.33. Lumo Kodit Oyj (HE:LUMO) declined 1.13% or 0.09 points to close at 7.90.
Market breadth on the Helsinki exchange favored advancers. Rising stocks outnumbered decliners by 107 to 60, and 25 issues finished unchanged.
Commodities and currencies
Commodity markets showed sizable moves during the session. Brent crude for October delivery climbed 3.80% - up $3.02 - to $82.47 a barrel. U.S. crude for September delivery increased 3.35% or $2.52 to $77.74 a barrel. Gold's December futures contract retreated 0.31% or $13.30, trading at $4,291.90 a troy ounce.
