Finland's stock market ended Friday in positive territory, paced by sector-level strength in Utilities, Consumer Services and Financials. At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 index was up 0.28%.
Among individual index constituents, Konecranes ABP (HE:KCRA) was the session's top performer on the OMX Helsinki 25, climbing 2.10% or 0.56 points to finish at 27.26. Hiab Oyj (HE:HIAB) added 1.55% or 0.90 points to close at 59.10, while KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) rose 1.48% or 0.73 points to 50.14 in late trade.
On the downside, Neste Oyj (HE:NESTE) led losses, slipping 1.77% or 0.55 points to trade at 30.56 at the close. Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) fell 1.63% or 0.49 points to end at 29.48, and Valmet Oyj (HE:VALMT) declined 0.91% or 0.24 points to 26.12.
Market breadth favored advancers: rising stocks outnumbered decliners on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 92 to 74, while 26 issues finished unchanged.
Commodity and currency moves were modest alongside equity gains. Brent oil for October delivery increased 0.39% or 0.34 to $87.22 a barrel. U.S. crude for September delivery rose 0.57% or 0.48 to $84.07 a barrel. Meanwhile, the August Gold Futures contract retreated 1.51% or 62.10 to trade at $4,038.00 a troy ounce.
Major currency pairs were largely flat: EUR/USD was effectively unchanged, moving 0.09% to 1.15, and EUR/GBP was unchanged by 0.08% to 0.86. The US Dollar Index Futures traded higher by 0.18% at 99.90.
This session's price action left the market slightly higher overall, with particular strength in names tied to industrial equipment and consumer services. At the same time, energy-linked and industrial engineering names showed the largest single-stock declines within the index.
