Among the index constituents, Zealand Pharma A/S (CSE:ZELA) registered the largest advance, climbing 3.78% or 11.60 points to finish at 318.20. Novo Nordisk A/S Class B (CSE:NOVOb) added 1.75% or 5.30 points to end the session at 307.60, and Genmab (CSE:GMAB) advanced 1.73% or 32.00 points to close at 1,878.00.

On the downside, AP Moeller - Maersk A/S A (CSE:MAERSKa) led the decliners with a 1.86% drop, down 310.00 points to 16,340.00 at the close. Its B shares, AP Moeller - Maersk A/S B (CSE:MAERSKb), fell 1.72% or 295.00 points to finish at 16,880.00, while Carlsberg A/S B (CSE:CARLb) slipped 1.70% or 16.20 points to close at 937.00.

On the Copenhagen Stock Exchange overall, more names fell than rose: 62 stocks declined compared with 53 advancers and 19 that were unchanged.

Commodity markets saw notable moves. Crude oil for September delivery was down 4.92% or 3.95 to $76.39 a barrel. Brent oil for October delivery fell 4.32% or 3.62 to $80.15 a barrel. By contrast, the December Gold Futures contract moved higher, up 1.07% or 43.90 to trade at $4,134.40 a troy ounce.

Foreign exchange crosses involving the Danish krone showed very little movement. USD/DKK was effectively unchanged, shifting 0.07% to 6.49, while EUR/DKK was unchanged by 0.02% to 7.48. The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 99.81 at the close.
