Denmark's benchmark index ended the trading day lower on Friday, with losses concentrated in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors. At the close in Copenhagen, the OMX Copenhagen 20 declined 3.09% and hit a new one-month low.
Among the index constituents, Rockwool AS B (CSE:ROCKb) was the session's strongest performer, finishing up 2.97% or 6.00 points at 208.00. Pandora A/S (CSE:PNDORA) advanced 2.01% or 16.00 points to 812.00, while Genmab (CSE:GMAB) rose 0.79% or 14.50 points to end the session at 1,858.50.
The heaviest declines were led by Novo Nordisk A/S Class B (CSE:NOVOb), which fell 7.37% or 24.40 points to 306.50 at the close. ISS A/S (CSE:ISS) dropped 1.71% or 5.00 points to 287.40, and Demant A/S (CSE:DEMANT) slipped 1.61% or 4.60 points to 281.00.
On the Copenhagen Stock Exchange overall, advancing issues outnumbered decliners by 67 to 53, with 16 stocks finishing unchanged.
Commodity markets saw mixed moves during the session. Crude oil for September delivery rose 2.36% or 1.97 to $85.56 a barrel. Brent oil for October delivery increased 1.69% or 1.47 to $88.35 a barrel. In contrast, the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.32% or 54.10 to trade at $4,046.00 a troy ounce.
In currency markets, USD/DKK was up 0.22% at 6.50, while EUR/DKK was effectively unchanged, moving 0.02% to 7.48. The US Dollar Index Futures was higher by 0.28%, trading at 100.00.
Market participants will note the breadth of the move in the OMXC20 and the outsized decline in one of the index's largest healthcare names. The session's price action also coincided with strength in crude and Brent oil and weakness in gold futures, alongside a firmer US dollar on futures markets.
