Petroreconcavo SA (BVMF:RECV3) recorded a smaller gain of 1.59% or 0.16 points, ending the day at 10.20.

On the downside, Lojas Renner SA (BVMF:LREN3) suffered the steepest loss among major movers, sliding 8.09% or 1.09 points to close at 12.39, a 52-week low for the retailer. CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:CMIN3) declined 5.22% or 0.30 points to 5.44, while Energisa SA (BVMF:ENGI11) dropped 5.22% or 2.58 points to 47.01.

Market breadth favored decliners: 531 issues fell compared with 396 advancers on the B3 exchange, and 38 stocks finished unchanged.

Volatility in Bovespa options eased as the CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility index slipped 3.69% to 25.82, reaching a new six-month low.

Commodities showed mixed moves in late trade. December gold futures climbed 2.26% - up $97.15 - to settle at $4,396.75 per troy ounce. In energy, September crude oil eased 0.35% or $0.27 to $77.02 per barrel. The December US coffee C contract increased 2.47% or $7.55 to trade at $313.65.

Currency markets recorded modest moves against the real. USD/BRL weakened 0.54% to 5.08, while EUR/BRL fell 0.24% to 5.89. The US Dollar Index Futures was lower by 0.32%, trading at 99.49.
