KPMG announced a worldwide alliance with Anthropic to integrate the Claude artificial intelligence system across its operations. The deployment will reach KPMG's global workforce of more than 276,000 people operating in 138 countries and territories, and the firm said all employees will receive access to the AI tools.
Platform integration
The company is embedding Claude directly into Digital Gateway, the software platform KPMG uses to deliver client work in tax and legal. Digital Gateway, which KPMG says is built on Microsoft Azure, will host Claude Cowork and Managed Agents so professionals can assemble AI capabilities inside the same environment they use for client engagements.
Bill Thomas, Global Chairman and CEO of KPMG International, described the alliance as part of the firm's innovation agenda: "At KPMG, we99re innovating and redefining how work gets done. This global alliance with Anthropic reflects our shared commitment to responsible AI, prioritizing security, trust, and governance."
KPMG highlighted operational gains from the embedded agents. Rema Serafi, Vice Chair of Tax at KPMG US, said building an AI agent to help clients adapt to changing tax regulations "used to take weeks and required teams to switch between multiple tools and chat windows. With Cowork and Managed Agents integrated in Digital Gateway, that same capability takes minutes."
Private equity focus and product development
Anthropic has designated KPMG as a preferred partner for private equity, and the two companies will collaborate on Claude-powered products aimed at private equity portfolio companies. KPMG developed new offerings aimed at the PE market, including KPMG Blaze, which can incorporate Claude Code to assist teams in modernizing IT systems.
KPMG will also act as a preferred consultant to help deploy Claude within PE portfolio companies, signaling an intention to couple AI-powered tools with advisory services in that segment.
Security, governance and prior adoption
The firms said they will use Claude to identify and remediate vulnerabilities in critical systems, operating under KPMG's Trusted AI framework. The broader rollout follows two years of Claude usage within KPMG US, where the technology has been applied in AI and Data Labs and other internal teams.
The integration positions Claude inside a core client platform and makes the system available to KPMG's entire global workforce, while the partnership will also target product and service offerings for private equity portfolio companies.
