Key Points

  • ChangeNOW hosted four panels, NOW Effect interviews and a keynote at TOKEN2049 Singapore featuring representatives from MetaMask, Trezor, WalletConnect and other projects.
  • Discussions focused on wallet consolidation into multi-service interfaces, transaction routing and privacy for on-chain payments, and the role of payments as a foundation for crypto super apps - sectors that affect payments infrastructure, digital asset custody and consumer fintech.
  • Panels also examined AI's influence on media monetization and the feasibility of integrating crypto swaps into content and analytics platforms, impacting media, advertising and crypto infrastructure markets.

Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, October 28th, 2026 - ChangeNOW organized a suite of sessions at TOKEN2049 Singapore that included four panel discussions featuring representatives from MetaMask, Trezor, WalletConnect and additional projects, a set of NOW Effect interviews, and a keynote presentation by Pauline Shangett, Chief Strategy Officer.

Shangett delivered the keynote on the Bit Digital Stage under the title "Next Billion Users Should Never Touch Blockchain." In her address she argued that mainstream adoption requires users to be insulated from low-level blockchain complexity - for instance, choosing networks, managing gas fees or handling multiple separate services. She proposed that crypto super apps, which consolidate common financial tasks into one product, are a path to deliver seamless everyday experiences.

At the ChangeNOW exhibition area, a wallet-focused panel moderated by The Block's Kelvin Sparks brought together MetaMask, Trezor and ChangeNOW to discuss how wallets are evolving. Panelists described wallets expanding into multi-service interfaces while examining security implications and the need for explicit user consent for AI agents interacting with wallets.

"The user shouldn't have to think about gas. The user shouldn't have to go through multiple steps to switch from one network to another, when a lot of that can be done in the background," said Yana, Head of Business Development & Account Management at ChangeNOW.

An infrastructure session convened Banxa, RocketX, WalletConnect and Aztec Labs to examine transaction routing, privacy considerations for on-chain payments and collaboration models among specialized providers focused on payments and settlement.

Another panel concentrated on the concept of crypto super apps, assembling participants from Pulsar Money, Rubic, Hercules and CoinRoutes. That discussion weighed whether payments, trading or a broader suite of financial services would most effectively drive habitual use. In her remarks, Shangett highlighted payments as one potential foundational element for such platforms.

The event coverage also included live market snippets that referenced several tokens and their short-term moves: XLM/USD -1.12%, ZEC/USD +1.81%, INJ/USD -1.18% and USDD/USD 0.00%.

The fourth panel paired CoinEasy, The Block of Media and ChangeNOW to evaluate how artificial intelligence is reshaping search, SEO and audience monetization. Panelists discussed community-building, podcasts and video as content formats, and they explored how crypto swap functionality might be integrated into media and analytics products.

Journalist Ramia Farrage led the NOW Effect interview series, speaking with representatives from Stellar, Injective, NEAR Intents, USDD, Sonic and Zcash. The interviews covered topics including cross-border payments, institutional engagement in decentralized finance, stablecoins, privacy features and the usability challenges that remain for blockchain applications.

All panels and interviews were recorded and are scheduled for release as part of ChangeNOW's TOKEN2049 coverage. The company has also prepared Day 1 and Day 2 recaps that compile additional highlights from the program.

Risks

  • User experience challenges remain - wallets must manage gas, network switching and consent for AI agents, creating operational and security risks for wallet providers and custodians in the digital assets sector.
  • Privacy and transaction routing for on-chain payments were identified as unresolved issues, posing uncertainty for payments infrastructure providers and companies building payment rails on-chain.
  • Unclear consumer incentives for returning to crypto super apps - whether payments, trading or broader financial services will drive regular engagement remains a debated point, introducing product-market-fit risk for super app builders and fintech firms.
