Hong Kong, China, October 29th, 2026 - Cregis, a provider of enterprise digital-asset payments and custody infrastructure, has formed a strategic partnership with Remi Technology to underpin a regulated digital-asset network aimed at banks, payment service providers and foreign exchanges. The agreement positions each partner to contribute distinct layers of technology and regulated operations to support cross-border digital-asset transactions that meet institutional compliance requirements.
Remi Technology, headquartered in Singapore, is building a blockchain-native network that connects regulated financial institutions and coordinates settlement workflows. The firm has an established strategic relationship with Bison Bank, a licensed bank in Portugal, which provides the regulated banking platform and custody-ready context for the collaboration.
Under the three-way arrangement, Bison Bank offers the banking foundation and a regulated operating environment. Remi operates the connective tissue between participating institutions and orchestrates the settlement processes. Cregis supplies the underlying digital-asset security and management infrastructure, spanning wallets, payments orchestration, fund flow management and institutional custody.
Shawn Yan, CEO of Cregis, framed the partnership in operational terms, emphasizing that institutions require more than secure storage and transfer mechanisms once digital assets enter regulated markets. "Once digital assets enter regulated financial markets, institutions need more than secure ways to hold and transfer assets. They also need to bring those activities within their existing frameworks for access control, risk management and governance," Yan said. "Our work with Remi is focused on making digital asset infrastructure better suited to the operational requirements of financial institutions."
The collaboration builds on prior product launches within the partner ecosystem. Bison Bank has expanded its digital-asset business and in May 2026 launched EUB and USB - euro- and US dollar-linked electronic money tokens - for approved institutional clients, enabling tokenized transfers and settlement inside a regulated bank environment. Those tokens are presented as practical examples of how digital assets can be deployed for settlement within regulated banking operations and are part of the broader cooperation between Remi and Bison Bank.
Remi’s network includes features intended to integrate compliance, data exchange and transactional transparency into institutional workflows. Capabilities called out by the parties include structured data exchange, transaction information transfer and status tracking, reconciliation and compliance coordination. The network is described as supporting KYC/AML processes, transaction screening, the Travel Rule and compliance monitoring.
Sam Su, CEO of Remi Technology, described the division of responsibilities across the partners. "Cross-border digital asset settlement requires reliable technical connectivity, a sound banking foundation and robust security," Su said. "Our strategic partnership with Bison Bank provides the banking and institutional framework, while Cregis brings the underlying digital asset security capabilities. Each partner contributes a distinct part of the infrastructure needed to serve regulated financial institutions."
For regulated institutions experimenting with blockchain-based payments or asset management, the parties argue that infrastructure which links institutions while adhering to regulatory expectations is increasingly necessary. The article cites industry estimates placing stablecoin payment volume at roughly $390 billion in 2025, with approximately $226 billion of that total in business-to-business payments, underscoring the scale of on-chain payment activity moving into institutional contexts.
Cregis emphasizes its technology stack as a match for institutional requirements. The company provides custody and asset-management solutions built on a mix of security technologies including multi-party computation (MPC), hardware security modules (HSMs) and trusted execution environments (TEEs). Those components are positioned to support wallets, payment rails, fund flow orchestration and institutional custody suitable for regulated counterparties.
Over the past nine years, Cregis says it has helped more than 4,000 businesses in over 50 countries build and operate digital-asset businesses. In 2025, Cregis introduced Trust Vault, a product designed to expand institutional custody and asset-governance capabilities by supporting secure storage, management and operational use of digital assets - including stablecoins - while strengthening access controls, risk management and compliance governance.
In public remarks included by the parties, Yan reiterated the product-first perspective: institutions will adopt digital assets more broadly when those assets and their supporting infrastructure fit into existing operational models. "Broader adoption of digital assets in financial services will depend on how well they fit into the way institutions already operate," Yan said. "Our focus is on building the security, asset management and operational capabilities that institutions need to use digital assets with confidence as their businesses evolve."
The announcement also includes capsule descriptions of the organizations involved. Remi Technology is described as a Singapore-headquartered fintech that has developed a blockchain-native cross-border payment and settlement system benchmarked against SWIFT, intended to deliver fully compliant cross-border payment infrastructure for licensed banks and regulated financial institutions worldwide.
Bison Bank, S.A. is presented as a bank focused on private banking, depositary services, corporate advisory and digital-asset services for individual and institutional clients, leveraging its European presence and international partner network to develop a global business.
Cregis is described as a digital-asset infrastructure platform providing technology for collections, payouts and fund operations, offering wallet infrastructure, fund-flow orchestration and regulated custody. Founded in 2017, Cregis serves financial institutions, payment service providers, Forex brokers, fintechs and Web3 businesses, operating across Asia, the Middle East and Latin America and supporting more than 4,000 businesses across over 50 countries.
