Shares of LeMaitre Vascular fell 16.3% in pre-open trading after the vascular device maker released second-quarter 2026 results late Tuesday that failed to meet Wall Street expectations and included reduced guidance. The company reported Q2 organic sales growth of 10%, a 26% rise in operating income, and a 23% increase in earnings per share to $0.74. Operating margin reached a record 29%.
Despite those operational gains, the $0.74 EPS missed the consensus forecast of $0.81. Revenue for the quarter totaled $70.4 million, below analysts' expectations of $71.47 million.
Management also trimmed near-term guidance. For the third quarter of 2026 the company gave an EPS range of $0.66 to $0.71, under the $0.73 consensus. Revenue guidance for Q3 was set at $66.3 million to $68.3 million, which falls short of the $69.0 million analysts had expected. Company executives pointed to foreign exchange pressures, delays related to the situation in the Middle East, and supply constraints as the principal headwinds behind the weaker outlook.
The guidance shift was not limited to the coming quarter. LeMaitre narrowed its full-year 2026 EPS outlook to a range of $2.84 to $2.94, down from the prior range that had been established after a stronger-than-expected first quarter. The company also trimmed its full-year organic revenue growth target to 11%, down from the prior 12% forecast.
There were some encouraging product- and geographic-level notes in the release. Artegraft remained the companys fastest-growing product, with sales up 34% and accounting for 21% of total revenue. International sales are projected to rise to $11 million in 2026 versus $4 million in 2025.
Analysts did not identify any significant downgrades or insider transactions that could explain the move, suggesting the market reaction was driven primarily by the combination of the earnings miss and the lowered guidance.
From a broader market standpoint, the selloff appeared to be company-specific rather than part of a wider market decline. Futures for the Dow, S&P 500 and Nasdaq rose in overnight trading after all three indexes closed at record highs on Monday. On the day, the S&P 500 edged up 0.4%, the Dow Jones added 0.4% and the Nasdaq gained 0.2%, contrasting with LeMaitres sharp pre-market drop.
At the pre-market price of $88.54, the shares were trading substantially closer to their 52-week low of $79.39 than to the 52-week high of $118.01. Investors appear to be recalibrating expectations for near-term growth for the Burlington, Massachusetts-based company in light of the quarterly miss and tightened outlook.
