Google announced on Thursday that AlphaEvolve, an AI-driven code-optimization agent built on the companys Gemini models, is now generally available to all Google Cloud customers through the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.
AlphaEvolve is designed to act as an evolutionary collaborator for developers and researchers. Users supply a starting algorithm and define the objectives they want to achieve; the agent then searches the solution space for improved approaches and delivers optimized, human-readable code. According to Google, the tool has been applied to a range of complex tasks, including microchip design, routing across logistics networks and accelerating medical research.
The product first appeared in a private preview in December 2025. Google said that early adoptersnames it cited include BASF, JetBrains and Kinaxishave used the tool to address business and research problems that were previously difficult or intractable.
Google emphasized that AlphaEvolve does not rewrite code from scratch. Instead, the agent looks for solutions based on the parameters and objectives provided by the user and returns optimized approaches in a format intended to be understandable by humans.
The company posted the availability announcement on its corporate blog and noted that the agent is accessible through the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform for customers of Google Cloud.
