TA 35 slips 0.09% as select large-caps post gains and losses amid modest commodity moves

Israel's main equity gauge closed marginally lower on Monday, with the Real Estate, Banking and Communication sectors among the day's laggards. The TA 35 declined 0.09% as a larger number of issues fell than rose. Several individual stocks reached record highs while commodity markets posted gains in crude and Brent and a small rise in gold futures.

Top performers - Among the index constituents, Camtek Ltd (TASE:CAMT) led gains, adding 6.06% - an increase of 3,470.00 points - to finish at 60,770.00. Enlight Renewable Energy Ltd (TASE:ENLT) rose 5.16% or 1,350.00 points to close at 27,500.00, and OPC Energy Ltd (TASE:OPCE) advanced 3.59% or 450.00 points to end the day at 13,000.00.

Largest decliners - On the downside, Next Vision Stabilized Systems (TASE:NXSN) fell 5.26%, a drop of 1,630.00 points, to 29,370.00 at the close. Dimri (TASE:DIMRI) declined 3.93% or 1,710.00 points to finish at 41,800.00, and Strauss Group (TASE:STRS) lost 3.89% or 500.00 points to trade at 12,350.00.

Declining issues outnumbered advancing ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 316 to 158, while 77 issues ended unchanged.

All-time highs - Shares of Camtek Ltd rose to an all-time high, gaining 6.06% or 3,470.00 points to close at 60,770.00. Enlight Renewable Energy Ltd also reached a record high, advancing 5.16% or 1,350.00 to finish at 27,500.00.

Commodities and FX - In commodities trading, crude oil for June delivery climbed 2.32% or 2.21 to $97.63 a barrel. Brent crude for July delivery increased 2.44% or 2.47 to $103.76 a barrel. The June Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 7.06 to trade at $4,737.76 a troy ounce.

Currency and dollar indices - The USD/ILS rate was unchanged at 2.90, while EUR/ILS was unchanged at 3.42. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 97.76.


Market note - The session featured a mix of notable individual stock moves alongside a modest decline in the headline index. Commodity prices recorded advances for crude and Brent and a small uptick in gold futures, while the shekel and euro pairs versus the dollar were unchanged in the data provided.
