Swedish equities finished higher on Monday, with the OMX Stockholm 30 rising 0.19% as gains in telecoms, healthcare and basic materials underpinned the session. Ericsson and Epiroc were among the notable winners, while ASSA ABLOY, Evolution and Saab fell. Market breadth was narrowly positive and commodity prices climbed, with crude and Brent oil both posting significant gains.

Sweden's stock market closed in positive territory on Monday, with sector strength in Telecoms, Healthcare and Basic Materials pushing the benchmark index modestly higher.

At the Stockholm close the OMX Stockholm 30 index had risen 0.19%.

The session's top performers on the OMX Stockholm 30 included Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson Class B (ST:ERICb), which advanced 4.61% - an increase of 5.05 points to finish at 114.65. Boliden AB (ST:BOL) added 3.35%, or 17.20 points, closing at 530.00, and Epiroc AB Class A (ST:EPIRa) gained 2.65% or 7.10 points to end the day at 275.00.

On the downside, ASSA ABLOY AB ser. B (ST:ASSAb) declined 2.73% or 9.70 points to trade at 345.40 at the close. Evolution AB (ST:EVOG) fell 2.55%, a drop of 16.20 points to finish at 619.00, and SAAB AB ser. B (ST:SAABb) slipped 2.27% or 12.20 points to 525.80.

Market breadth was narrowly positive on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, with 387 stocks rising and 366 falling, while 68 issues ended the session unchanged.

Shares of Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson Class B (ST:ERICb) also reached a three-year high in the session, closing up 4.61% at 114.65. Epiroc AB Class A (ST:EPIRa) closed at 275.00, a level the report identifies as an all-time high after a 2.65% advance.


Commodities moved higher during the session. Crude oil for June delivery rose 2.71% or 2.59 to trade at $98.01 a barrel. Brent oil for July delivery climbed 2.80% or 2.84 to $104.13 a barrel. In precious metals, the June Gold Futures contract increased 0.23% or 10.84 to trade at $4,741.54 a troy ounce.

In currency markets, EUR/SEK was up 0.14% at 10.86 and USD/SEK rose 0.14% to 9.22. The US Dollar Index Futures was slightly lower, down 0.02% at 97.76.
