Turkey's equity benchmark finished the session higher on Monday, with the BIST 100 gaining 0.47% and establishing a new all-time high at the close in Istanbul. Sector strength was concentrated in Electricity, Metal Products & Machinery and Basic Metals, which helped push the index upward.
Certain stocks delivered outsized moves. The top performers on the BIST 100 included Gen Ilac ve Saglik Urunleri Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:GENIL), which rose 10.00% or 0.86 points to end at 9.46. Pasifik Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:PSGYO) advanced 9.72% or 0.31 points to finish at 3.50, and Pasifik Eurasia Lojistik Dis Ticaret AS (IS:PASEU) climbed 9.58% or 9.90 points to close at 113.20.
At the other end of the board, several names recorded sizable declines. Kiler Holding AS (IS:KLRHO) fell 9.96% or 13.40 points to 121.20 at the close. ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi AS (IS:ENKAI) dropped 5.48% or 6.10 points to 105.20, while Efor Yatırım Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (IS:EFOR) eased 3.91% or 0.53 points to finish at 13.04.
Market breadth favored advancers, with 361 stocks rising against 242 that fell on the Istanbul Stock Exchange; 16 issues closed unchanged. Those internals reflect a session in which sectoral leadership produced a net positive outcome for the headline index despite pronounced moves in individual securities.
Commodities moved higher during the session. Gold Futures for June delivery rose 0.27% or 12.80 to $4,743.50 a troy ounce. In energy markets, crude oil for June delivery increased 2.12% or 2.02 to reach $97.44 a barrel, and the July Brent contract climbed 2.32% or 2.35 to trade at $103.64 a barrel.
Currency and dollar-index moves were modest. The USD/TRY rate was up 0.07% at 45.38, while EUR/TRY rose 0.10% to 53.50. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 97.75.
The session showcased a mix of broad sector gains and concentrated stock-level volatility. Electricity and metals-related names underpinned the advance in the BIST 100, even as select large-cap names recorded notable declines, and shifts in commodities and FX were evident by the close.
