Israel stocks ended lower on Wednesday, with sector declines in Real Estate, Technology and Insurance contributing to a mild fall in the main index.
At the close in Tel Aviv the TA 35 declined 0.06%.
Among constituents, Strauss Group (TASE:STRS) was the session's strongest performer on the TA 35, finishing up 2.74% - an increase of 310.00 points to 11,620.00. Navitas Petroleum LP Unit (TASE:NVPTp) gained 2.17%, adding 270.00 points to reach 12,700.00, while OPC Energy Ltd (TASE:OPCE) rose 2.12% or 210.00 points to close at 10,130.00.
The heaviest declines included Ormat Technologies (TASE:ORA), which fell 5.82%, a drop of 1,890.00 points to 30,610.00. The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE:TASE) also retreated, down 2.04% or 280.00 points to 13,450.00, and Azrieli Group Ltd (TASE:AZRG) ended the session 1.83% lower, losing 730.00 points to 39,260.00.
Market breadth was tilted toward declines: 299 stocks fell against 170 that advanced, and 90 stocks finished unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
Commodities saw notable strength. Crude oil for October delivery rose 3.45%, gaining $3.21 to trade at $96.24 a barrel. Brent oil for November delivery increased 3.28%, up $3.21 to $101.13 a barrel. In metals, the December Gold Futures contract advanced 0.57%, a gain of 25.37 to trade at 4,464.37 a troy ounce.
In currency markets, USD/ILS was essentially flat - recorded as unchanged at 0.05% to 3.02, while EUR/ILS rose 0.28% to 3.52. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 98.64.
For the trading day, the patchwork of sector performance helped produce a shallow overall decline in the benchmark, with individual stocks showing a mix of firm gains and outsized losses. Energy-linked names recorded some of the strongest upward moves among gainers, while technology and insurance-related issues were among the laggards driving part of the downside.
