Israel's main equity gauge finished higher on Tuesday, with the TA 35 closing up 0.22% in Tel Aviv as gains in the Real Estate, Communication and Oil & Gas sectors supported the market.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 rose 0.22%.
The top performers on the TA 35 included Dimri (TASE:DIMRI), which advanced 5.47% - a rise of 2,020.00 points - to finish at 38,960.00. Next Vision Stabilized Systems (TASE:NXSN) added 5.20%, gaining 1,090.00 points to close at 22,040.00. Big Shopping Centers Ltd (TASE:BIG) rounded out the leading decliners with a 4.19% increase, up 2,840.00 points to 70,590.00 in late trade.
On the downside, OPC Energy Ltd (TASE:OPCE) was the weakest performer among TA 35 members, falling 4.67% or 464.00 points to trade at 9,475.00 at the close. Camtek Ltd (TASE:CAMT) declined 4.64%, a loss of 1,860.00 points, to end the session at 38,200.00. Kenon Holdings Ltd (TASE:KEN) slipped 4.46%, down 910.00 points to 19,500.00.
Market breadth on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange was positive, with 321 stocks advancing versus 170 that fell, while 68 issues finished unchanged.
Commodity prices showed notable movement during the session. Crude oil for October delivery rose 2.32%, adding 1.99 to trade at $87.75 a barrel. Brent oil for December delivery climbed 4.42% or 3.91 to reach $92.28 a barrel. The December Gold Futures contract fell 1.63%, a decline of 72.96, to trade at $4,408.54 a troy ounce.
In foreign exchange trading, the Israeli shekel weakened against major currencies. USD/ILS was up 1.14% at 3.02, while EUR/ILS rose 0.98% to 3.51. The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 99.55.
Key intraday price moves and market breadth highlighted a session where energy-related and commodity moves coincided with gains among selected domestic sectors. The recorded moves in crude and Brent prices, along with the gold futures decline, formed the backdrop to the equity session and to the shekel's depreciation against the dollar and euro.
