Strong gains in several individual names were offset by steep declines among a subset of electronics and materials companies. Commodities and currency moves were modest, with crude and Brent edging higher while gold retreated.

Among individual performers, a small group of stocks posted double-digit percentage moves. Walsin Technology Corp (TW:2492) led gains, finishing up 10.00% - an increase of 22.00 points - to close at 242.00. Nuvoton Technology Corp (TW:4919) also advanced 10.00%, rising 15.00 points to 165.00, while Mobiletron Electronics Co Ltd (TW:1533) climbed 9.99% or 3.45 points to end the session at 38.00.

On the downside, several names recorded steep losses. Yeong Guan Energy Technology Group Co Ltd (TW:1589) fell 9.92% or 0.61 points to close at 5.54. Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424) dropped 9.77% or 1.95 points to 18.00, and Spirox Corp (TW:3055) declined 9.68% or 12.00 points to 112.00.

Market breadth details reported that falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Several stocks reached notable price milestones during the session. Walsin Technology Corp (TW:2492) rose to five-year highs, reflecting its 10.00% gain to 242.00. Mobiletron Electronics Co Ltd (TW:1533) attained a 52-week high after its 9.99% increase to 38.00. By contrast, Yeong Guan Energy Technology Group Co Ltd (TW:1589) moved to an all-time low, falling 9.92% to 5.54.

In commodities trading, crude oil for July delivery increased 0.21% or 0.21 to $98.21 per barrel. Brent oil for July delivery rose 0.18% or 0.19 to $105.12 a barrel. Precious metals saw downward pressure, with the June Gold Futures contract falling 0.54% or 24.70 to trade at $4,519.50 a troy ounce.

Currency indicators showed USD/TWD slipping 0.10% to 31.52, while TWD/CNY was unchanged at 0.22. The US Dollar Index Futures was quoted up 0.05% at 99.21.
