MODIVO SA (WA:MDVP) fell 1.71% - down 1.48 points to 85.10, while PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) dropped 1.13% or 0.12 points to finish at 10.48.

Market breadth was tilted toward declines on the Warsaw Stock Exchange: 267 stocks fell versus 234 that advanced, and 133 were unchanged at the close.

Notably, Pepco Group's shares reached three-year highs during the session, closing 1.50% higher at 43.89.


Commodities and FX moves

Commodity markets saw pronounced weakness in oil. Crude oil for September delivery dropped 4.25%, losing $3.92 to settle at $88.27 a barrel. Brent for September delivery fell 4.86%, a decline of $4.89 to $95.80 a barrel. In contrast, the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.66% or $26.77, trading at $4,076.97 a troy ounce.

Currency moves against the zloty were modest: EUR/PLN declined 0.33% to 4.31, and USD/PLN eased 0.41% to 3.79. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 101.17.
