Norwegian equities closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Oslo OBX climbing 1.08% to reach a new one-month high at the end of the trading day. Currency markets also shifted alongside the equity and commodity moves. The euro against the Norwegian krone (EUR/NOK) dipped 0.05% to 10.93, while the U.S. dollar strengthened versus the krone (USD/NOK), rising 0.35% to 9.62. The U.S. Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 101.37.
These intraday movements point to a session where energy and industrial-linked names outperformed, supported by sizable gains in global oil benchmarks. At the same time, sector dispersion was evident, with geophysical services, consumer goods and semiconductor stocks finishing lower amid the broader uptick in the index.
