Oshkosh Corporation saw its stock rise 2% in premarket trading on Wednesday after its Oshkosh Defense unit announced new orders totaling $142 million for the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV) A2 platform.
According to a company statement released Wednesday, the contracts were placed by both U.S. and international customers. The awards cover several FMTV A2 configurations, including 4x4 Cargo, 6x6 Cargo, and Long Wheel Base models intended to meet a range of operational requirements.
Oshkosh said the recent awards reflect sustained demand for tactical mobility solutions as military mission requirements evolve. The company highlighted that interest in the FMTV A2 platform from international customers continues to expand as defense forces seek vehicles that can adapt to changing operational environments.
"The continued demand for the FMTV A2, both in the U.S. and internationally, reflects the platform’s ability to perform across a wide range of missions and environments," commented Pat Williams, Chief Programs Officer at Oshkosh Defense. "Our international customers require vehicles that combine durability, flexibility, and advanced capability. The FMTV A2 delivers that performance while aligning with the operational needs of modern forces."
The FMTV A2 platform is built to integrate into diverse fleet configurations and to satisfy region-specific mission requirements, supported by Oshkosh Defense’s global network, the company said. The orders include multiple configurations intended to cover different tactical roles through the 4x4, 6x6, and long-wheelbase variants.
Oshkosh Corporation manufactures specialty vehicles and vehicle bodies for both defense and commercial markets. Its defense segment produces tactical wheeled vehicles and related components for the U.S. Department of Defense and international allies.
The announcement and the accompanying statement from Oshkosh Defense link vehicle demand to shifting mission requirements and to expanding international interest in the FMTV A2 platform. The company did not provide further detail on delivery schedules, specific customer identities, or the precise breakdown of the order across model configurations in the statement.
