On the downside, Sandvik AB (ST:SAND) led losses among large caps, sliding 2.21% - a drop of 8.70 points - to end the day at 384.40. Private equity firm EQT AB (ST:EQTAB) fell 1.68%, down 5.70 points to 333.40, while miner Boliden AB (ST:BOL) declined 1.50%, or 8.60 points, finishing at 564.60.
Market breadth and volume
Decliners materially outnumbered advancers on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. Falling stocks totaled 465, versus 269 advancers, while 69 issues finished unchanged.
Commodities and currency moves
Commodities trading saw notable swings. U.S. crude for October delivery rose 2.64%, gaining $2.20 to trade at $85.60 per barrel. Brent crude for December delivery climbed 5.11%, up $4.40 to $90.52 per barrel. In metals, the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.19%, a decline of $53.85, to trade at $4,476.05 per troy ounce.
On the currency front, the euro traded slightly higher against the Swedish krona, with EUR/SEK up 0.16% at 11.13. The U.S. dollar weakened modestly versus the krona, with USD/SEK down 0.14% at 9.58. The U.S. Dollar Index Futures was reported down 0.27% at 99.39.
