Jakarta market closes higher as Infrastructure, Financials and Agriculture lead gains

IDX Composite rises 0.76% with several mid-cap stocks posting double-digit moves amid commodity and currency swings

Indonesia's stock market finished higher on Monday, with the IDX Composite up 0.76% at the close in Jakarta. Gains were concentrated in the Infrastructure, Financials and Agriculture sectors. Several individual stocks recorded large percentage moves in both directions, while oil prices fell, gold rose and the rupiah weakened against the US dollar and Australian dollar.

Indonesia's equity benchmark advanced at Monday's close, driven by strength in several key sectors. The IDX Composite Index finished the session up 0.76% in Jakarta as buyers outweighed sellers across the market.

Sector leadership came from Infrastructure, Financials and Agriculture, which collectively pushed the index higher during the trading day. Market breadth favored risers, with 499 stocks ending the session higher, 222 declining and 140 closing unchanged on the Jakarta Stock Exchange.

Among individual movers, PT Jasa Berdikari Logistics Tbk (JK:LAJU) was the session's top gainer, climbing 31.67% - a rise of 19.00 points - to close at 79.00. PT Ingria Pratama Capitalindo Tbk (JK:GRIA) added 31.90%, or 37.00 points, finishing at 153.00, while Bank Harda Internasional Tbk PT (JK:BBHI) gained 24.84%, up 195.00 points to end at 980.00.

On the downside, PT Dafam Property Indonesia Tbk (JK:DFAM) led decliners, falling 15.00% or 21.00 points to close at 119.00. Asia Pramulia Tbk PT (JK:ASPR) dropped 14.58%, down 42.00 points to 246.00, and Daaz Bara Lestari Tbk PT (JK:DAAZ) declined 13.53% or 230.00 points to finish at 1,470.00.

Two notable price milestones were recorded during the session. Shares of PT Ingria Pratama Capitalindo Tbk (JK:GRIA) rose to a 52-week high, increasing 31.90% to 153.00. Conversely, Daaz Bara Lestari Tbk PT (JK:DAAZ) fell to a 52-week low, dropping 13.53% to 1,470.00.

Commodities trading showed pronounced moves. Crude oil for July delivery fell 4.35% - down $4.20 - to settle at $92.40 a barrel. Brent oil for August delivery declined 3.90%, down $3.91, to $96.30 a barrel. Precious metals moved in the opposite direction, with the August Gold Futures contract rising 0.71% - up $32.30 - to trade at $4,588.70 a troy ounce.

Currency markets also shifted during the session. The Indonesian rupiah weakened against the US dollar, with USD/IDR rising 0.34% to 17,722.90. AUD/IDR increased 0.79% to 12,701.81. Outside regional currency pairs, the US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 98.96 by the close.
