Finnish shares ended the trading day in negative territory on Wednesday, pressured by declines in Telecoms, Utilities and Technology stocks that pulled the benchmark lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 was down 1.06%.

- Hiab Oyj (HE:HIAB) rose 1.71% or 0.90 points to finish at 53.55.
- Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) gained 0.92% or 0.24 points to close at 26.28.
- Valmet Oyj (HE:VALMT) added 0.74% or 0.16 points to end the day at 21.66.
Largest declines
- Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) tumbled 5.14% or 1.90 points to 35.06 at the close.
- Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) fell 4.80% or 0.49 points to end at 9.78.
- Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) was down 2.75% or 0.56 points to 19.84.
Market breadth on the Helsinki Stock Exchange showed 91 stocks advancing and 78 declining, while 22 issues finished unchanged.
Commodities and currencies
Energy and precious-metals benchmarks moved lower in the session. Brent oil for September delivery declined 0.61% or 0.52 to $84.21 a barrel. U.S. crude for August delivery fell 0.55% or 0.44 to $78.90 a barrel. The August Gold Futures contract decreased 0.39% or 15.90 to trade at $4,053.80 a troy ounce.
On the currency front, EUR/USD was essentially unchanged, moving 0.13% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP weakened 0.64% to 0.85. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 100.51.
