Commodities and currencies

Energy and precious-metals benchmarks moved lower in the session. Brent oil for September delivery declined 0.61% or 0.52 to $84.21 a barrel. U.S. crude for August delivery fell 0.55% or 0.44 to $78.90 a barrel. The August Gold Futures contract decreased 0.39% or 15.90 to trade at $4,053.80 a troy ounce.

On the currency front, EUR/USD was essentially unchanged, moving 0.13% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP weakened 0.64% to 0.85. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 100.51.
