Market takeaway - The session closed with broad-based selling, with Software, Construction and Industrials named as the primary downward contributors. A small group of insurers and select industrials outperformed, while large-cap technology and defense-related names underperformed.

Risks

  • Market breadth showed more decliners than advancers (428 vs. 230), indicating downside pressure on equity sectors such as Software, Construction and Industrials.
  • Notable single-stock declines in defence and industrial names (for example ETR:RHMG and ETR:SIEGn) present sector-specific downside risk for industrials-related portfolios.
  • Commodity price swings - a drop in gold futures and a rise in crude oil contracts - introduce uncertainty for portfolio segments exposed to materials, energy and inflation-sensitive assets.
