Comet reported results for the first half of fiscal 2026 on Wednesday, with group revenues of CHF240 million. That headline number represents reported year-over-year growth of 5.6% and organic expansion of 12.7%.
The sales figure matched UBS's estimate of CHF239 million but remained slightly below the market consensus of CHF244 million. On profitability, Comet disclosed reported EBITDA of CHF31 million, translating to a margin of 13.1%, a performance that exceeded the consensus EBITDA figure of CHF28 million.
Net income for the period was CHF14 million, up 72% compared with the prior-year period. The company noted that elevated tax expenses had an impact on the net result.
Order intake in the second quarter totaled CHF213 million, outpacing UBS's CHF206 million projection. The group's book-to-bill ratio for the period stood at 1.57, indicating orders materially exceeded billed sales over the quarter.
Comet provided a segment breakdown for the first half. The PCT segment recorded CHF144 million in sales, representing reported year-over-year growth of 7.0% and delivering an EBITDA margin of 20.1%. IXS reported sales of CHF49 million with no change year-over-year and posted an EBITDA margin of -8.2%. IXM achieved CHF54 million in sales, up 10.5% year-over-year, with an EBITDA margin of 16.1%.
Alongside the half-year numbers, Comet issued quantitative guidance for fiscal 2026. The company now expects full-year sales in Swiss francs to be between CHF540 million and CHF570 million. For reported EBITDA margin, management projects a range of 14.0% to 17.0%, and stated that this range includes one-off items totaling 3 percentage points.
Earlier communications from the company had indicated expectations that 2026 net sales in Swiss francs and adjusted EBITDA margin would exceed 2025 levels. Market consensus for fiscal 2026 currently sits at sales of CHF560 million and a reported EBITDA margin of 15.2%.
Comet's first-half release combines modest reported sales growth with stronger organic momentum and an EBITDA outcome that beat consensus. The guidance provides a defined sales range and a reported EBITDA margin band that accounts for discrete one-off charges, and the second-quarter orders and book-to-bill ratio point to continued order strength during the period.
