Brazilian equities ended the trading session lower on Thursday, with the Bovespa index falling 0.46% at the close in S o Paulo. Losses were driven primarily by stocks in the Real Estate, Consumption and Industrials sectors, which weighed on overall market performance.
On the winners' list, RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (BVMF:RAIL3) led gains on the Bovespa, rising 2.35% - a 0.32-point increase - to finish at 13.96. Vibra Energia SA (BVMF:VBBR3) climbed 1.77% or 0.62 points to close at 35.59, and Ultrapar Participacoes SA (BVMF:UGPA3) advanced 1.71% - up 0.56 points - to end the day at 33.26.

Market breadth was tilted toward decliners on the B3 Stock Exchange, where falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 628 to 354, while 44 issues finished unchanged. The disparity in advancing versus declining names underscores the breadth of the pullback even as select names posted gains.
Two names reached notable price milestones in the session. Vibra Energia's shares hit an all-time high, closing at 35.59 after the 1.77% gain. Ultrapar's shares moved to five-year highs, finishing at 33.26 following a 1.71% increase.
Volatility indicators showed an increase in implied option volatility for the Brazilian market. The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility index was up 4.98%, settling at 29.28, reflecting higher market uncertainty around Bovespa options.
Commodities moved unevenly alongside equity markets. August gold futures fell 2.39% or $99.18 to trade at $4,052.72 a troy ounce. In energy, crude oil for September delivery rose 5.85% or $5.08 to $91.91 a barrel. Agricultural commodity prices were mixed; the September US coffee C contract declined 1.86% or $5.90 to $310.75.
Currency dynamics also featured in market moves. The USD/BRL rate strengthened 0.59% to 5.08, and EUR/BRL increased 0.35% to 5.80. Separately, the US Dollar Index Futures traded higher by 0.31% at 101.26.
Taken together, the session reflected sector-specific pressure within a broader market decline, concurrent with rising option-implied volatility and divergent moves across commodities and currency pairs.
