Turkey's equity benchmark closed the week lower on Friday, with the BIST 100 falling 0.95% to register a new one-month low at the Istanbul session's end. Declines were led by the Leasing & Factoring, Wood, Paper & Printing and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors.
Among individual movers, GurSel Turizm Tasimacilik Ve Servis Ticaret AS (IS:GRSEL) was the top gainer on the BIST 100, advancing 9.67% or 30.75 points to finish at 348.75. Odine Solutions Teknoloji Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:ODINE) climbed 5.56% or 130.00 points to close at 2,470.00, while Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) added 2.81% or 4.10 points to end the session at 150.00.
On the downside, Sekerbank TAS (IS:SKBNK) posted the steepest decline, sliding 9.95% or 1.30 points to close at 11.76. Katilimevim Tasarruf Finansman AS (IS:KTLEV) dropped 8.28% or 14.00 points to finish at 155.00, and ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) fell 6.78% or 0.62 points to trade at 8.52 at the close.
Market breadth favored decliners: 425 stocks fell while 192 advanced and 15 finished unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
Notably, shares of Odine Solutions Teknoloji Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:ODINE) reached an all-time high during the session, closing up 5.56% at 2,470.00.
Commodities showed mixed performance. Gold futures for August delivery rose 0.70% or 28.15 to $4,078.35 a troy ounce. By contrast, crude oil prices retreated: the September WTI contract fell 4.44% or 4.09 to $88.10 a barrel, while the September Brent contract declined 5.09% or 5.13 to $95.56 a barrel.
Foreign exchange moves included a 0.19% increase in USD/TRY to 47.35 and a 0.07% rise in EUR/TRY to 53.94. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 101.18.
The session reflected uneven interest across sectors, with several names advancing sharply even as overall indices weakened. Traders and investors operating in banking, energy-related utilities and industrial materials sectors will likely note the divergent intra-market performance as they assess exposures going into the next trading days.
