The pace of employment growth across our overall client base improved slightly in September, with stronger growth among businesses with more than 50 employees. Sustained increases in weekly earnings and hours worked growth demonstrate that businesses continue to meet operational needs without increasing hiring. Risks

  • Modest hourly wage growth could limit consumer spending power in sectors reliant on small business employees.
  • Sustained stability without strong job growth may signal a plateau that could impact small business-centered economic momentum.
  • Dependence on existing workforce capacity might limit business expansion or responsiveness to sudden demand increases in affected sectors like Education and Health Services.
