Bybit, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, announced the expansion of its Islamic Account with 20 additional Shariah-compliant trading pairs. The move is the opening step in a program that will introduce a total of 100 new Shariah-compliant pairs over the course of the year.

The newly listed pairs on the Islamic Account are NIGHT/USDT, XPL/USDT, SOMI/USDT, MON/USDT, IP/USDT, RECALL/USDT, CC/USDT, SEI/USDT, ZKC/USDT, ZORA/USDT, WAL/USDT, XAN/USDT, STRK/USDT, AI16Z/USDT, ATH/USDT, ZBT/USDT, S/USDT, 2Z/USDT, CAMP/USDT, and INIT/USDT.

According to Bybit, each pair listed under the Islamic Account underwent a review by its Shariah advisory partners to confirm compliance with Islamic finance principles before being made available to users. The exchange said the listing schedule will proceed in stages, with additional groups of pairs being added at roughly two-week intervals.

"We believe access to digital assets should not require users to compromise their values. By expanding our Islamic Account, we’re giving Muslim traders greater choice while maintaining the rigorous Shariah review process behind every supported asset. This is part of our long-term commitment to building a more inclusive digital asset ecosystem," said Derek Dai, Head of Bybit MENA.

Bybit introduced the Islamic Account as a dedicated option for users seeking trading aligned with Islamic financial tenets. The product is designed to remove interest (riba) and present transparent fee structures. The exchange noted that the account was one of the first fully Shariah-compliant accounts offered by a global cryptocurrency exchange and that it was developed with input from Shariah advisory scholars.

The Islamic Account supports Spot Trading as well as automated strategies that have been adapted for Shariah compliance, including Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA) Bots and Spot Grid Bots. These tools are offered to allow users to construct and manage positions in ways the exchange says are consistent with their values and beliefs.

The announcement also included snapshot market movements for a number of tokens and stablecoins. The data showed movements such as USDT/USD down 0.01%, SEI/USD up 4.1%, STRK/USD unchanged at 0.00%, WAL/USD up 0.41%, INIT/USD down 2.71%, ZORA/USD down 17.82%, CAMP/USD down 4.45%, SOMI/USD down 7.64%, ZKC/USD down 12.64%, XPL/USD down 0.23%, XAN/USD unchanged at 0.00%, 2Z/USD up 3.78%, RECALL/USD down 0.87%, ZBT/USD up 0.71%, and NIGHT/USD up 3.55%.

Bybit framed the expansion as a response to rising demand for Shariah-aligned financial products across the Middle East and other Muslim-majority markets, paralleled by broader participation in digital assets. The company described the upgrade as part of an ongoing effort to provide a dedicated environment that emphasizes transparency, fairness, and adherence to Islamic finance principles.

The exchange said further enhancements to the Islamic Account will continue as the staged roll-out proceeds. Users interested in participation in specific promotions or details about eligibility were directed to the exchange's promotional pages for terms and conditions.

Risks

  • Eligibility and regional restrictions: the promotional event and some aspects of the Islamic Account are available only to users registered under the CMA license who joined on or after January 19, 2026, and are not available to residents of Dubai - this limits market access for some users.
  • Market volatility: the announcement included price movements for several tokens showing a range of positive and negative moves, indicating that token prices remain volatile and could affect users building positions via the Islamic Account.
  • Staged roll-out uncertainty: because the expansion will proceed in stages with new pairs introduced roughly every two weeks, timing of access to specific pairs will depend on Bybit’s schedule and Shariah reviews.
