What to watch

The day's action combined sector-level strength with a narrow breadth profile and sizable moves in commodities and FX that may influence sensitivity in energy-related and export-exposed names. Astor Enerji's move to record levels was the most conspicuous single-stock story during the session.

Risks

  • Narrow market breadth - falling stocks outnumbered advancing stocks 303 to 299 - may signal dispersion risk for equity investors, affecting sector rotation and stock-specific outcomes (impacts equities broadly).
  • Significant moves in energy commodity prices - crude and Brent fell several percent - could increase volatility for energy-sector names and related industrials exposed to fuel costs (impacts Energy and Industrials sectors).
  • Exchange-rate fluctuations - modest changes in USD/TRY and EUR/TRY alongside a stronger US Dollar Index Futures could influence exporters, importers and firms with FX exposures (impacts Exporters, Importers, and Financials).
