Denmark's equity market ended Monday's session in positive territory, with the OMX Copenhagen 20 index up 0.97%. Advancers outnumbered decliners, driven by strength in Consumer Goods, Financials and Technology names. Energy and precious metals prices fell while the dollar weakened versus the krone and euro.

Denmark's main equity gauge closed higher on Monday, with gains concentrated in the Consumer Goods, Financials and Technology sectors that helped lift the OMX Copenhagen 20 by 0.97% at the end of trading in Copenhagen.

Leading the index's winners, Zealand Pharma A/S (CSE:ZELA) climbed 5.59% - a rise of 15.00 points - finishing the session at 283.20. Shares of AP Moeller - Maersk A/S B (CSE:MAERSKb) added 3.24%, or 545.00 points, to close at 17,365.00, while AP Moeller - Maersk A/S A (CSE:MAERSKa) gained 3.05%, or 500.00 points, to finish at 16,890.00 in late trade.

On the downside, Demant A/S (CSE:DEMANT) was the weakest performer among the OMX Copenhagen 20 constituents, slipping 3.46% or 6.50 points to close at 181.60. FLSmidth & Co. (CSE:FLS) declined 1.16%, a drop of 5.80 points, to end the session at 493.80, and Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CSE:VWS) was down 0.53% or 0.90 points to 158.40.

Market breadth favored advancing issues: 73 stocks rose versus 44 that fell on the Copenhagen exchange, while 22 shares finished unchanged.

Notably, AP Moeller - Maersk A/S B (CSE:MAERSKb) advanced to a three-year high during the session, gaining 3.24% to reach 17,365.00.

Commodity markets moved lower on the day. Crude oil for May delivery fell 1.78%, down $1.72, to $95.12 a barrel. Brent oil for May settlement decreased 0.30%, or $0.31, to $102.83 a barrel. In metals, the April Gold Futures contract dropped 1.53%, or $77.30, to trade at $4,984.40 per troy ounce.

In foreign exchange trading, the USD/DKK rate weakened 0.55% to 6.51, while EUR/DKK was effectively unchanged, moving 0.01% to 7.47. The US Dollar Index Futures also eased, down 0.36% at 99.75.
